Meet the FACTEUR PR Team!

At FACTEUR PR, we champion transparency and value our clients and followers knowing the faces of the women behind our operation. As we’ve had a few new additions to our group over the past few months, we’d love to re-introduce ourselves. Meet Reena, Janet, Hannah, Kelly, and Abigail. We’d love to get to know you better!

Where do you spend your time working?

Lately, I have been working more from home since my daughter, Élodie, was born, but my favorite place to get work done and take meetings is our office in Ohio City, just outside of downtown Cleveland.

What projects are you working on?

A ton right now, which I am very grateful for. Lots of PR for L’or de Seraphine, a beautiful candle brand; Avarelle Cosmetics, an acne patch solution; VersaSpa, a self-tanning giant; and interior design studio, Styled by ARK.

What’s a fun fact about yourself you’re interested in sharing?

Everyone is always so surprised whenever I reveal that I’m a former live DJ! It was a fun side hustle for about eight years.

What’s something you’re excited about right now?

We’ve been working with L’or de Seraphine on the social media and influencer side for more than a year now, and we recently picked up PR, too. I love getting to represent them to the media – they are such a fantastic brand and wonderful people.

What made you interested in public relations?

I didn’t really know public relations was a field when I decided to go to journalism school. My intention was to always become an editor. But after landing a job in marketing in the music industry straight out of college, I realized I could use my writing skills in this industry and eventually that led me to PR, and it’s since been 13 years! Like marketing, PR is so integral to brand building and imaging, and I love to be able to assist our clients with that. I get to be their biggest cheerleader and also consultant.

What’s something you’d love to do more of going forward?

Travel! Last year I was pregnant and didn’t do a lot of out-of-town learning and networking at conferences and meeting with so many of the journalists that we work with, so this year I am hopeful that I can take a few trips.

Where do you spend your time working?

I work part-time at FACTEUR and love coming into the office in Hingetown. I also love the flexibility to be able to work from home when necessary (e.g. sick kids!)

What projects are you working on?

I am working with several clients on earning traditional and digital media coverage including Styled by ARK and L'or de Seraphine.

What’s a fun fact about yourself you’re interested in sharing?

My family (including our dogs!) moved to the United Kingdom and we lived across the pond for nearly four years and my daughter was born in England.

What’s something you’re excited about right now?

I am excited to work with Cleveland Heights and explore this area of Cleveland. As a westside resident, I haven't visited Cleveland Heights in nearly a decade and I am excited to see all that has changed in 10 years.

What made you interested in public relations?

I've spent most of my career writing news stories and features, so switching to public relations was a great transition for me. I enjoy writing and want to help our clients create content to share via media relations.

What’s something you’d love to do more of going forward?

I would love to help plan and attend more media events for our clients. So much of our work is done via email and social media ... meeting our clients, followers and local media in person at these events can be so fun and rewarding.

Where do you spend your time working?

I mostly work at home in my flat, or if I’m running around a bit more, I’ll work on campus at my university, usually at Costa, but if I want a bit more calm I find a spot in the library.

What projects are you working on?

I work most consistently with Oak + Honey Event Planning Co. and L’or de Seraphine, but also do a lot of influencer relations for our lifestyle clients!

What’s a fun fact about yourself you’re interested in sharing?

I’m currently working towards getting my MA from Goldsmiths, UoL. So, when I’m not working, I can usually be found buried in a textbook and frantically texting group project members, while perpetually trying to remember if I have any money left on my oyster card.

What’s something you’re excited about right now?

Right now, I’m super interested in the changing culture around sustainability. I think we’re at a vital turning point in how we move forward as a civilization, and it’s great to see some of my favorite brands and media companies take initiatives seriously and implement positive changes of practice beyond basic corporate social responsibility.

What made you interested in public relations?

The field of PR is totally fascinating and always changing across countless different industries. We consistently have to be on top of the next big thing and learning about the thing to come after that. That excites me!

Where do you spend your time working?

My work environment is always changing — and I am a huge fan of this! A lot of time has been spent in FACTEUR PR’s gorgeous loft-style office in the Hingetown neighborhood of Ohio City. I love sitting at one of our communal tables with a fresh cup of coffee and my laptop open, on one of the rare Ohio days where sunlight is pouring through our windows. I also get the opportunity to work from home often. Although it’s tempting to relax on my bed, I’ve found this can make me feel a bit too at home! I normally opt to sit out in my living room, music playing from my TV and my favorite leggings on. Nothing wrong with being comfortable as we get into deep work mode! One of my favorite working environments, though, has to be a local coffee shop — for a list of my favorites, keep reading — the accessibility to a cup o’ joe plus the social atmosphere is definitely a recipe for productivity.

What projects are you working on?

Recently, I’ve been putting together a press kit for one of our beautiful self-care clients, L’or de Seraphine, a design-heavy candle company with aromatherapeutic products infused with essential oils. I’ve also been working with Double Rainbow, a gorgeous childrenswear boutique, to increase their e-commerce sales through their website and newsletters.

What’s a fun fact about yourself you’re interested in sharing?

For one, I love taking group fitness classes! Some of my favorites have been dance exercise and barre — the above photo is from a class at TruBarre Studio in Akron. I love classes’ ability to help me meet new people, listen to the best music and get an incredible workout in with instructors who know their stuff!

Additionally, I shoot weddings as primarily a side hustle. I spent a lot of weekends last fall teaming up with some amazing wedding and engagement photographers as their assistant for the day. This year, I’ll be working with a killer photographer based in Youngstown, Ohio — Anna Victoria Photo. I’m pumped to take Saturdays as learning opportunities, portfolio builders and social settings all in one!

What’s something you’re excited about right now?

My best friend — of almost four years at this point! — and I got engaged in August 2019. We found a house to rent in the little town of Kent, Ohio, and we couldn’t be more excited! It’s a couple-minute walk to a favorite coffee shop of ours. We’ll be all settled in there after our wedding in September. We can’t wait to have a place of our own to decorate.

Lastly, February marked a year of working with the beautiful ladies at FACTEUR PR — I have loved my time with this company so far, and I’ve felt true joy at the idea of sticking with them for as long as I’m able.

What made you interested in public relations?

Graduating with a journalism background, I first felt limited to what jobs I could take with my degree. After realizing storytelling comes in several different forms, not just through a newspaper or magazine position, it helped the creative world open up! I love getting to know the clients we are working with and taking an in-depth approach to their messaging.

What’s something you’d love to do more of going forward?

It would be super life-giving to do more brand photography for our clients! I’m game for any and all creative styling and brainstorming with small business owners to help them see their products and services in their best light.

Abigail Halter | Marketing and Communications Intern

Where do you spend your time working?

I am keen on just staying home to work when I can! I have two little puppies that make it very hard to leave and who provide me endless entertainment while getting my work done.

What projects are you working on?

I am involved with the creation of many recaps for our clients that let them know all we have done for them as well as summaries of all the press coverage we have secured for them.  I have recently wrapped up recaps for Ohio City Galley, OY-L, and Naturepedic.  They are such a nice way to highlight the achievements for each of our clients.

What’s a fun fact about yourself you’re interested in sharing?

I love to travel more than anything else and love to go places that wouldn’t be at the top of everyone’s list.  My last big trip was to Antarctica and I am hoping for my next one to follow The Silk Road and visit The Five Stans.

What’s something you’re excited about right now?

I am always excited for the future and how our work will evolve because of the rapidly changing environment of the Internet.  Additionally, with the growing popularity of zit stickers, I am excited to see how Avarelle continues to be a frontrunner in the category.

What made you interested in public relations?

I love having the ability to create amazing opportunities for clients.  Playing an integral part in seeing a business grow and develop and seeing how appreciative clients are makes me really enjoy working in PR.

What’s something you’d love to do more of going forward?

I would love to work more on building social media from the group up!  Having a nice online presence is so important for marketing nowadays, so I’d love to be able to create that for a client and see their business grow.

Thanks for taking a moment to familiarize yourself with our small but strong team! We’d love to get to know you better, too. Feel free to follow us on social media for more opportunities for collaboration and connection.
